Financial Planner - Part time permanent position

Purpose of this Role 

An integral part of delivering the high standard of personalised services to our boutique client base. At Rethink Financial Planning, the role of Financial Planner is a highly regarded role within our team and by our clients. You are a dedicated professional who is capable of providing solid advice and support to our clients around investment and financial planning opportunities, SMSF, Aged Care & associated legislative frameworks but above all be client focused by creating an environment of enrichment and togetherness as the relationship manager and the financial coach for our clients.

What will your Typical Responsibilities look like in this Role? 

Whilst we expect all our team members to roll up their sleeves and help out when needed, below are some specific aspects of your role for which you will be responsible:

Responsibility Area: Client Management & Servicing 

  • Meet at regular intervals with our clients to review their situation, objectives and change of life choices that may impact on the previous plan in place

  • Manage referrals from our web, internal teams of collaborative referral streams as well as external business partners

  • Create new clients, simply and in line with business values, ethics and financial fee structure

  • Proactively contact clients when required to advise of any changes that impact on their situation

  • Maintain up to date client files within our CRM, XPlan

  • Document, as per our P&P, all client contacts including telephone, email and face to face

  • Prepare documentation, within the scope of the Financial Planners role, for our Paraplanner to ensure they can complete SoA’s and RoA’s in the most efficient timeframes, having all the information necessary to do so

  • Be available on occasions for early morning or late afternoon client meetings to support a handful of our clients that have inflexible work arrangements

 Responsibility Area: Education & Training 

  • Continue ongoing education & training to ensure your levels or skills and qualifications are always tracking ahead of the ongoing industry standards guidelines

  • Participate in our Annual Dealer Group conferences

  • Participate in industry events

  • Participate in adviser collaboration sessions when required to strategise

  • Participate in collaboration meetings with other professions; such as Aged Care experts, Solicitors, Accountants, to create clients strategic plan

  • Participate in internal mentoring & coaching sessions with other financial advisers and aged care professionals to gain higher levels of knowledge, skills and client engagement techniques to empower you within your role

Mentoring

  • Mentor and share knowledge with the Client Service Managers and other team members to support their ongoing learning, development and growth

  • Proactively contribute your knowledge and experience to improve our systems, policies and procedures for our business

Responsibility Area: Team Participation 

  • Attend weekly FP meetings

  • Attend education & training sessions

  • Attending scheduled coaching

  • Attend network & industry events

  • Participate in investment committee meeting where required

  • Contribute to the marketing blogs & posts that are distributed via email, newsletters, website & social media platforms

Some of our minimum expectations for skills, experience and qualifications

The right person for this role will bring the following to the Rethink family:

  • RG 146 compliant with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role with a genuine interest in the financial services industry

  • Advanced Diploma of Financial Planning essential

  • Diploma of Financial Planning desirable

  • Exceptional communication skills across various platforms; with our team, our providers & insurers, as well as our collective of specialists we collaborate with is a must; via all mediums – email, telephone and in person

  • A proactive attitude to working with our client’s is essential

  • A communication style which is tailored, engaging and warm, enabling the Rethink family to live and breathe our way of doing business

  • Proficiency with XPlan or similar CRM is essential

  • Experience in SMSF setup is desirable

  • Experience in working with Aged Care clients is desirable

  • An ability to effectively relay client data, objectives and outcomes to our external paraplanning resource to ensure they can efficiently create our SoA’s and RoA’s

  • Experience in mentoring and/or upskilling less-experienced team members

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills which demonstrates the ability to turn technical, complex matters into practical, simple language

  • An openness to learn soft and hard skills to increase your ability to work with clients and our team

All our team are required to ensure that they take care to protect their own health and safety as well as the health and safety of others (including fellow team members, clients and visitors). These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Complying with all policies and procedures aimed at protecting your health and safety;

  • Reporting hazards as soon as practicable, and assisting with health and safety improvements; and

  • Wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment, as required
