One of your biggest inspirations:
There are many! I find inspiring when people find their purpose and live large, or live the life they are meant to while inspiring others to do the same.

Your favourite superhero:
I think we all have a superhero inside us. Use it for good not evil!

Qualifications:
I have a Cert IV in Management and am a Justice of the Peace. However the on-the-job training I’ve had throughout my career is more valuable in my experience than any training.

The role in a nutshell:
My in-house title, Solutionist, reflects my duties perfectly. I support everyone in the space to get on with what they do best. Any challenge or blockage they have in the space, I’m here to support and solve for them, so they can focus on their clients and teams. My duties encompass a front of house, booking client appointments, greeting and farewelling all visitors to our space, setting up equipment and ensuring all guests have a fresh tea or coffee on arrival in preparation for their time in our space. I also coordinate the hiring of our meeting pods and all their catering needs for the many external companies that enjoy working out of our space from time to time.

I look after the various tenants that have chosen to run their business from our collaborative space, Rethink Your Workspace. I ensure our new tenants are onboarded and set up ready to do business and ensuring they feel like part of the family while they’re here by addressing any issue or requests they have, so their business can thrive.

Why you love working at Rethink Your Workspace (the office location for Rethink Financial Planning):

I love coming to work every day, working in an awesome environment with an amazing and supportive team who all feel like family. I love the atmosphere and culture of the business, the people, the clients. This is my family, we spend a lot of time at work so I love that I can walk through the door each morning and work with like-minded people. When clients walk through the door for the first time, I am focused on making their first experience in the space an engaging, caring and memorable one. Likewise when clients return again and again, I’m focused on ensuring they feel a part of the extended family of clients and businesses who love doing business in the space. I experience things based on how they make me feel and therefore try to make sure the people who visit our space leave with a good feeling.

Advice you wish everyone knew:
To engage a financial planner sooner rather than later.

Best career moment:
When clients or visitors take the time to contact Cass and give feedback on the work that’s done here. For example, a client recently sent us a thank you note for the wonderful, welcoming experience we provided, as well as the personal touches. She also mentioned how helpful I was and made reference to my title as ‘solutionist’ which was very special.

What you are passionate about:
Travel is something I am very passionate about. I love the experiences, the people and the culture. I’ve recently been approached to contribute to a book written by a local author on living your bucket list, where I was able to reflect on my travel experiences.  

I am passionate about helping others. I have been a team member in a humanitarian community development and education project in rural Cambodia for the past five years, travelling there several times as a group and solo.  I enjoy volunteering helping local communities both here and abroad. I enjoy being a volunteer at Soul Cafe and am grateful for the opportunity to give something back to the community where I live.
